The owner of a wonderful old Spanish style home wanted to rebuild and expand what had once been a small apartment attached to an existing 2 car garage while being true to the existing character of the original structure. The new unit perched atop Grizzly Peak Blvd. with a wide open view of the bay echoes the details of the adjacent main house- inset windows, a large bay with decorative molding, and Spanish tile roof. Brick steps with a cast iron railing lead up to a curved porch that is just large enough for a cafe table for two. A custom glass and metal awning gives cover to the front dutch door.
